What's with non-enchanted Purple weapons?
I've recently noticed the appearance of Purple pickups without any listed enchantments and that don't offer any goods when Expert Salvaged. What's up with these? Do they serve any purpose?

They can be upgrades with weapons upgrades (Mods) to add things to them however, so they not completely worthless. |

True, but what makes a gold or purple item that color is supposed to be the enchantments and such. If it has nothing extra, then it is just a miscolored white item IMO.

The nice thing about purple clean weapons is if you plan to mod it and sell it - you'll get a better price than with blue items with the same stats. People don't like to buy blue weapons - doesn't matter if they're max damage with low reqs and top upgrades. They'll pay more for the gold one with worse stats - it's just human nature.

I personally have found that when I get a colored item with no added ablilities it usually it a high damage weapon that is rare for that area. Plus the requirements are normally lower as well. For an example I a purple long sword 14 - 21 damange (req 8 swordsmanship. By all means not the best sword, but I got it while doing the ashes quest, and as I'm sure everyone knows max and almost max weapons are really rare that early in the game.

I think Fye is right. Ever notice that FDS are allways blue, even when they arent max and have no mods? I got a 10-15 hammer in presear and it was purple, even though it had no abilities attached.

Okay. Anyidea why they're more coomon now though? I mean, I had never seen or heard of any when a guy rasied the question in Presearing saying he'd seen 2 non-enchanted purples, and then i find two myself. Has there been a change in frequency, or just like buses, there's none for ages and then millions turn up at once?

I've been seeing more of these as well. It may just be me but I seem to get more salvage items off of these.
